Randy & Julie were married in their backyard under their gazebo. It was a family affair in which their 6 children joined them during the ceremony and for the Unity Sand Ceremony. They are holding the final product that they will treasure forever!
"Thank you so much for performing our wedding ceremony! :) Everything was perfect! It was nice meeting you and working with you. Even though you did most of the work."

"Dear Nancy, Thank you for helping us with our ceremony. We really appreciate the time, effort, and kindness that you gave to us. Thanks, Erick & Aris
Erick & Aris came to me for an intimate Commitment Ceremony, and I was more than happy to craft a romantic ceremony that spoke of their love for each other and their decision to commit to growing that love.
I crafted and performed a celebration of life at the Hilton Garden Inn, Fort Wayne. Some family members traveled from other States and some lived in this area, where the Honoree grew up.
We used candles lit by each of her adult children and her granddaughter to represent her presence. After they said their final goodbyes and blew out their candles, I lit a white one to represent her enduring spirit.
Everyone was moved by the remembrances of those who loved her. There were giggles and tears.
"Fantastic job Nancy. Thank you so much!" -- Tim
"Your words and guidance through the ceremony were both helpful and comforting. Thank YOU for your valuable contribution. Thank you for bringing the keyboard. We couldn't have done it without you. Vicki chose well by including you in our send-off for our mother." -- Pam
"We want to thank you for performing our ceremony. It was exactly what we wanted and it was a blessing that we were able to have you do it."
Sincerely, Rob and Leigh Ann
Rob and Leigh Ann were married at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory in the Rainforest room. Leigh Ann's two adult children and their spouses stood up with them. Their loving extended family was also there to witness their beautiful wedding ceremony by the waterfall.
Just the other weekend as I was saying goodbye to the newlyweds, Danielle and Brandon, when he gave me a hug and said, “That was so much better than I could have imagined!”
Their wedding ceremony told how they met and reflected who they are as a couple. Taking place in the Eagles Theatre in Wabash, IN, their ceremony reflected their theme of “Old Hollywood” with movie quotes and bridesmaids in blush, lace gowns with trains.
They wrote their own wedding vows and chose to tie a fisherman’s knot for their unity ceremony. Not only were their family and friends there to support them and share in their special day they were also a part of their wedding ceremony. The bride and groom each had a family member bring them a piece of rope for the knot-tying ceremony, and the bride’s sisters took turns reading them a poem.
Even the groomsmen could feel the excitement in the air before the ceremony and told me how much they enjoyed it afterward.
"Nancy, We were so blessed to have you officiate our wedding on October 11, 2104. Everything was exactly how we wanted. We value your inside and creativity :). If we ever decide to renew our vows and/or have another life-cycle celebration you are our go-to-gal! Keep on shining!"
Much love and thanks, Rachel & Jeffery

Rachel and Jeffery chose a new-age, rainbow theme for their wedding. They wanted to include a Chakra blessing and Yin/Yang symbols. Their welcome included an explanation of Yin/Yang and how they will learn about the light and dark of each other, and grow together. For their Unity Ceremony, their guests brought them rainbow-colored ribbons, spoke a blessing, and then we used this longer piece of ribbon for a Handfasting.
"Thank you so much for performing our wedding ceremony! It all went so perfect we will remember it forever! It's so wonderful to have had you preside over such special days!
Lyndsay & Chris
The Empyrean in Fort Wayne, IN
Lyndsay and Chris chose to have me perform their wedding ceremony after watching me perform her sister's a couple of years ago. Since I keep each ceremony script, I was able to make sure none of the wording was duplicated. Two of her sisters read them a poem, which made the ceremony more intimate. I encourage having family and/or friends read poems, Bible Passages or stories.
The wedding ceremony was held on the 24th floor, and the reception was held on the floor above. Both floors offered an amazing view of Fort Wayne below and gave the ceremony an out-of-this-world feeling. For their Unity Ceremony, they included a Unity Candle, but it didn't work very well, because the candles were blown out by the air conditioning vent directly behind it. Luckily, they were too much in love to stress over this detail.
"I wanted to thank you again for making our special day so perfect. The ceremony was beautiful! Thought I would share a fun picture with you.
You have the BEST job in the world!"
Joseph & Lisa on their way to Colorado!
As soon as I pulled up to Joseph and Lisa's apartment on Van Buren in Columbia City, IN, I saw the news truck. I told myself it was there for something else, but it turned out to be there to live-stream their wedding ceremony to their family and friends on the East Coast!
Right after the wedding ceremony, they literally finished packing and headed to Colorado where they are now making a new home. To make sure they received a certified copy of their marriage license in Colorado, I picked one up for them and mailed it to their new address.
"Thank you so much Nancy, we received the formalized Marriage License yesterday, thank you so much again for all your kindness and follow through!"
John & Patrick [South Whitley Park Gazebo]
John and Patrick called me up wanted to get married right away! The reason? They were moving to Bali! That tropical paradise off the coast of New Zealand! I was more than happy to accommodate them with a short wedding ceremony that fit their needs. They promised to send me photos of Bali; we'll just have to wait and see.
"Mat and I want to thank you for everything that you've done to make our day so wonderful. You are so organized and on top of everything. You are so professional. The ceremony was wonderful; you are awesome!"
Mat & Laura were married at the National Military History Center in Auburn, IN
Mat and Laura were married at the National Military History Center in Auburn, because they live in Auburn, and didn't want to travel all the way down to Fort Wayne. Their ceremony space was in an alcove at the back with only concrete to capture the hot sun's rays. Unfortunately, because of the heat and angle of the setting sun, one of the bridesmaids fainted! I rushed the end of the wedding ceremony while some of the guests and bridesmaids helped her inside where it was cooler.
"Thank you Very much for all you did to make our day so special! And for enduring the heat; you really made our wedding what we wanted. Again a big THANK YOU!"
Tom & Laura
[They were married in their home in Hunterstown, IN, and had a photo of child and grandchild on their wall. So clever!]
Tom and Laura had so many children and grandchildren between them they were able to have a Ribbon Blessing Ceremony for their Unity Ceremony, and it was so touching! They had small pieces of ribbon imprinted with each blessing to make it easier on their kids, but they ended up being too small to tie together for a Handfasting. Instead, they had each person pin the ribbon onto a pillar candle, so they can treasure it always.
"Thanks again for all your help and dedication. It was such a pleasure to work with you. You helped make our day magical!"
Angela & Patrick
The Indiana Hotel Lobby
[click on photo at left to see more of Melissa's work!]
Angela and Patrick's romantic, Celtic wedding ceremony took place in a walkway the Indiana Hotel Lobby, which is located upstairs and to the west of the Embassy Theatre. It was narrow, so many guests had to sit further back, and Angela's children ended up sitting with Patrick's parents.
Their families and friends were delighted to hear Angela and Patrick's love story included in their wedding ceremony. It was very personal, and very much about them as a couple. They wanted to celebrate Patrick's Celtic heritage with a Handfasting, but forgot the cord! We ended up using his mother's scarf, which felt as though they had her blessing to be joined together -- which of course they did.
"Thank you so much for all your hard work to make our wedding a success. It was perfect!"
Jessica & David
(The Hayloft, Hoagland, IN)
Jessica and David chose to be married at the Hayloft in Hoagland, so they didn't have to travel far from their Ohio home, and still be close to family and friends. They had planned on getting married on the lawn, but the weather didn't cooperate. It was too rainy and cold, so we quickly moved everything inside.
David's cousin read, "Oh The Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss, and this was my first experience with children's literature being included in a wedding ceremony. I'm hooked now! It was so cheerful to hear in light of the cold, wet day. When a couple wants to add that touch of fun and merriment, Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein and great authors to include!
"Nancy, Thank you so very much for the beautiful ceremony! You were so sincere, professional and reassuring that you made me feel so much more relaxed and enjoyed it all that much more! Truly, You did a wonderful job and we will always appreciate it."
Kathryn & Robert
(Chinese House at Conner Prairie in Fishers)
Kathryn and Robert's went all out to have an Irish themed wedding; they even hired Sabrina Falls who played an authentic Irish harp! It was quite a challenge planning their ceremony from Arizona! Luckily, they had unlimited email consultations to make sure everything was according to their wishes.
"Thank you again! You did a wonderful job and Matt and I were thrilled with the ceremony. You are so right, there is a BIG difference in hiring a ceremony expert! You have 2 fans in Noblesville."
Karen & Matt
Karen and Matt were determined to have their Commitment Ceremony in the Potawatomi Inn, in Pokagon State Park, Angola. They envisioned a candlelit ceremony, surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a cold winter's night, so the fireplace added welcome warmth. A little over a year later, they were able to be legally married, so the three of us returned to the same room and had a private wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day. They plan to have a Vow Renewal on their 10th Anniversary!
"Thank you so much Nancy for marrying us! It was absolutely a beautiful ceremony, and we would recommend you a thousand times over. Words can't describe how happy we both are right now. Thanks again for everything, we will never forget you!"
Teresa and Ariel
Ariel discovered that he relates to Judaism in a secular way, and Teresa is a practicing Catholic. They blended their faiths by having her sister read the Seven Jewish Blessings, and their Unity Ceremony was the Covenant of Salt which touches on elements of both religions.
"Nancy, Our wedding day was so special to us and we owe a lot of that to you. You were fabulous at guiding us through every little detail and we are extremely grateful for helping our day be perfect. Thanks for everything!"
